Sidewalks, Driveways, Service Walks, Patios, Garage & Basement Floors, Shed and Generator Pads, Garage & Driveway Aprons
Concrete work is completed in accordance with the codes of the Town/Municipality . Variables include the thickness or grade of the concrete to be used.
Each job typically starts with breaking up existing concrete or excavating the area where the new concrete is to be installed. Once the area is excavated, we run lines and set forms. Once the forms are in place, we lay a base. We primarily use ¾ inch quarry process stone and compact the base. We then run wire or rebar throughout the formed area as required. The forms will vary in thickness. Patios & sidewalks are usually a 4 inch pour while driveways, aprons & garage floors are typically a 6 inch pour. Once the concrete is poured, we install expansion joints. These are typically used in sidewalk, patio, and apron work. Finishing depends on the nature of the job. A broom finish is used for walks & patios, a smooth trowel finish is used for floors.
